It's Ba-ack! Recipe of the Week

I have taken a hiatus from my creative cooking, but both my family and I are quickly tiring of boxed quick meals.  This recipe is nothing fancy, but it makes for a simple, tummy-warming breakfast for sure.  Dominican Style Oatmeal submitted to Allrecipes.com by Pepita is a wonderful, basic oatmeal recipe.  You can add any assortment of fruits, granola, etc. to spice it up just the way you like.  What I also appreciate is that I can whip up a big batch for the whole family quicker than making bowls of instant packaged oatmeal and for a fraction of the cost.

What it cost me to make a double batch of this today for breakfast, which fed 4 people:
1. 1 cup oatmeal (canister holds 15 cups @ $1.99)= $.14
2. 3 cups milk (1/2 gallon (8 cups) @ $.99)= $.37
3. Spices & Sugar (I am estimating a couple pennies each, as there is so little?)= $.10
Total Estimated Cost= $.61
